Bauchi Labour Party Backs Nenadi Usman As National Leader

The Bauchi State chapter of the Labour Party has declared full support for Senator Esther Nenadi Usman as the national chairperson of the party following the Supreme Court ruling that affirmed her leadership.

The decision was made public in a statement signed by Rev. Joshua Sunday, who announced his intention to steer the state chapter as chairman.

Party executives across wards in the state pledged loyalty to the Nenadi-led leadership, describing the apex court’s decision as final and binding. They urged members of the Obedient movement in Bauchi to unite under the new direction and work toward strengthening the party’s presence in the state.

The statement also criticized the performance of the ruling APC-led government over the past decade, accusing it of presiding over worsening unemployment, insecurity, inflation, and economic hardship. The Bauchi LP leadership argued that Nigeria needed a change from what it described as poor governance and pledged to support wider opposition coalitions to unseat the ruling party.

Rev. Sunday reaffirmed that the loyalty of the Bauchi chapter to Peter Obi remains intact, promising continuous support for his political aspirations and reform agenda. He called on party members across the 20 local government areas of the state to rally behind the new national leadership and reposition the party as a strong opposition force.

He further appealed to the Independent National Electoral Commission to recognise Senator Nenadi Usman as the party’s interim national chairperson in line with the judgment. According to him, his record as a former Zonal Vice Chairman in Bauchi South qualifies him to lead the state chapter into a new phase of growth.

The Bauchi Labour Party leadership concluded by stressing its determination to rebuild structures from the grassroots upward, aiming to make the party a credible alternative for voters in the state and across Nigeria.
