APC Support Group Launches Grassroots Mobilisation In Edo For Tinubu 2027

A support group within the All Progressives Congress (APC), the Grassroots Mass Mobilisation Support Group (GMMSG), has been inaugurated in Edo State to strengthen the party’s base ahead of future elections.

Speaking at the event on Sunday, the group’s National President, Hon. Faisal Mohammed, urged members to work for the APC’s victory in the upcoming local government elections and later in the 2027 presidential election. He said the group would help deliver the 2.5 million votes earlier pledged to President Bola Tinubu by Governor Monday Okpebholo.

“We are happy with what the governor is doing, which aligns with the president’s vision for the people. This group belongs to everyone, and our goal is to ensure APC wins all available seats in the local government polls,” Mohammed stated.

National Secretary of the group, High Chief Patrick Chime, stressed that membership is strictly for registered APC members, adding that the party’s constitution now formally recognises support groups. He called on members to spread the message across the state.

The Edo State Coordinator, Princess Omoyemwen Adeyinka-Afolabi, said the inauguration marked the beginning of grassroots mobilisation, with coordinators at the local government level driving the effort.

She noted that the group’s vision is to strengthen democracy by amplifying grassroots voices and ensuring inclusiveness in governance and development. “True power resides in the people, and the grassroots remain the foundation of every thriving democracy,” she said.

Adeyinka-Afolabi added that GMMSG will serve as a platform to push for unity, credible leadership, social justice, and equity across Edo communities.
