Gunmen believed to be bandits have kidnapped two female students from Al-Qalam University in Katsina State.
Habiba Ango Shantali and Maryam Abubakar Musa were taken captive on their journey back to school on Monday, January 15, 2024.
The President of the National Association Of Niger State Students (NANISS), Comrade Gambo Idris Shehu, verified the incident through a statement signed by the Secretary-General, Comr. Mohammed Ibrahim.
“The National Executives Council just received sad news that two of our students from Niger State, studying at Al-Qalam University Katsina, have been kidnapped on their way back to school,” the statement disclosed.
“The victims, both hailing from Borgu Local Government, are identified as follows: Habiba Ango Shantali, a 200-level student majoring in Political Science, and Maryam Abubakar Musa, a 400-level student in the Microbiology department.
“May Allah rescue them from the clutches of those notorious individuals.”
