The confirmation followed submission and adoption of the report of the house committee on Judiciary and legal matters chairman, Mr Tajudeen Akingbolu who had earlier screened the Attorney general nominee, Mr Apata and considered him worthy for the job.

Members at plenary presided over by the Deputy speaker, Mr Hakeem Jamiu in Ado unanimously agreed with the submission of the committee.
The house also gave the governor the go ahead to appoint ten special Advisers, while also reconfirming the nomination of Prof Femi Akinwumi as the the state Universal Basic Education Board chairman.
