Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), otherwise known as petrol is now selling at N148.70 per litre in petrol stations across Nigeria.
Petrol was selling at N87 per litre as at May 29, 2015 that President Muhammadu Buhari assumed office.
Speaking on the condition of anonymity with a source close to the leadership of the petroleum-related unions, he said the new price became necessary following the N6 added to the purchasing price by the federal government.
“So we also added N5 to the N143.8 we were selling before. Initially, we were confused as to to how much we would be selling. That was why we did not open early.”
