Pa Reuben Famuyide Fasoranti, the national leader of the pan-Yoruba socio-political organisation Afenifere, has died at the age of 100.
Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, announced his death in a statement he personally signed on Tuesday.
Aiyedatiwa described the late elder statesman as a respected figure whose century-long life was marked by wisdom, integrity and selfless service to Ondo State, Yorubaland and Nigeria.
The governor said Fasoranti’s commitment to the development of the state and the country had left a lasting legacy.
He added that the late Afenifere leader’s counsel, guidance and principled positions on justice and good governance would be greatly missed.
On behalf of the Ondo State Government and its people, Aiyedatiwa extended his condolences to the Fasoranti family, the people of Akure Kingdom and the entire state over the loss.
