Telecommunications operator MTN Nigeria has announced a network outage affecting parts of Lagos, Abuja and four other states, warning subscribers that some services may be temporarily unavailable.
The company issued a network outage alert to customers on Thursday, October 8, 2026, identifying Oyo, Lagos, Rivers, Delta and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) as areas experiencing service disruptions.
MTN said its engineers were working to resolve the network challenges and restore normal services as quickly as possible.
The company did not provide further details on the cause of the disruption or specify when full services would be restored.
The outage may affect subscribers in the impacted areas who rely on MTN for voice calls and other telecommunications services.
Data released by the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) in July 2026 showed that MTN had 100,859,578 subscribers in Nigeria, making the operator one of the country’s major telecommunications service providers.
