The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has alleged that the family of Anambra State Governor, Chukwuma Soludo, is not favourably disposed towards the party’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi.

Theo Abu Agada, the party’s Director of New Media and Strategic Communications, made the claim while reacting to a recent clarification by Soludo’s wife, Nonye, concerning Obi’s relationship with one of her sons.

Obi, a former governor of Anambra State, had stated that he was the godfather of one of Soludo’s sons and was present at the child’s baptism.
However, Mrs Soludo denied the claim, saying she decided to address the issue following the circulation of a video in which Obi made the statement.

In a statement issued by her media assistant, Dan Ezeigwe, the governor’s wife explained that she wanted to correct what she described as an inaccurate impression created by the video.
The development has since generated reactions, with Agada alleging that the Soludo family has a negative disposition towards Obi.
According to him, Obi should recognise the situation early and take it into account as political activities ahead of the 2027 general elections continue.
The NDC official’s comments came amid ongoing political developments involving Obi, Soludo and other political actors in Anambra and the wider South-East.
The claims about the Soludo family’s attitude towards Obi were made by Agada and were not independently established in the statement.
