The Taraba State chapter of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) has denied endorsing the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) governorship candidate, Danjuma Usman Shiddi, also known as Danji SS, for the 2027 governorship election.

The association made the clarification in a statement issued on Saturday by its Publicity Secretary, Jibrin Umar Ala, following the circulation of a social media publication claiming that MACBAN had endorsed Shiddi.

MACBAN described the publication as false and said it did not originate from the association or represent its position on the forthcoming governorship election.
The association explained that it regularly engages with political stakeholders and government authorities in Taraba as part of its efforts to promote peace and development in the state.
However, it said such engagements should not be interpreted as support for any particular candidate ahead of the 2027 election.

MACBAN stated that it had not conducted the consultations required to reach a decision on endorsing a candidate.
According to the association, any decision to support a candidate would only be made after broad consultations with its members across Taraba State.
The group said its primary focus remained the welfare of its members and contributing to peace and development in the state.
MACBAN added that it welcomed candidates who were committed to the development of Taraba, but maintained that individual members had the right to decide which candidates they would support and vote for during the election.
The association therefore urged members of the public to disregard the social media publication claiming that it had endorsed Shiddi for the 2027 Taraba governorship election.
