Ebonyi State Governor, Francis Nwifuru, has ordered the immediate removal of the Commissioner for Works, Stanley Lebechi Mbam, from office.
The directive was contained in a statement issued on Saturday by the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Dr Monday Uzor, in Abakaliki.
According to the statement, Mbam is required to hand over all government property in his possession to the Secretary to the State Government. This includes his official vehicle.
The former commissioner was also directed to transfer his responsibilities to the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Works with immediate effect.
The state government did not give reasons for the commissioner’s removal in the statement.
Nwifuru assured residents that his administration would remain focused on effective governance and the delivery of public infrastructure across the state.
