The donation is aimed at improving security operations and keeping residents safe across the state.

ALGON Chairman, Samuel Idowu, said the latest donation fulfilled an earlier promise and increased the number of patrol vehicles provided by the councils to 90.

He added that local government financial autonomy has allowed councils to fund projects that directly benefit their communities.

Idowu urged the security agencies to make proper use of the vehicles and maintain them well.

He also recalled that the councils had earlier supplied 300 motorcycles to security organisations to improve patrols and emergency response.

Receiving the vehicles on behalf of the security agencies, Osun Commissioner of Police Ibrahim Gotan described the support as timely.

He said the patrol vans would improve response time, boost patrol coverage and strengthen cooperation among security agencies across the state.
