The state described the claim as false and said it does not reflect reality.
Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Nasir Mu’azu, responded to the accusation on Wednesday.
He said the allegation surfaced after comments made during a television programme and insisted there was no evidence to support it.
According to the government, the claim appeared at a time when security agencies were making progress against banditry in the state.
Officials argued that the accusation could distract from ongoing efforts to improve safety and stability.
The government challenged those behind the allegation to provide verifiable proof.
It also warned that legal action could be considered against anyone spreading false information while urging residents to continue supporting security operations.
