The warning was contained in a letter issued through his legal team.
The former Kano governor accused the cleric of making false claims that were widely circulated on social media and news platforms.
His lawyers argued that the remarks painted him in a negative light and could harm his political standing ahead of the 2027 elections.
Kwankwaso’s legal representatives demanded a public retraction and apology within 24 hours across all platforms where the statements appeared.
They also asked for a written commitment that no further remarks of a similar nature would be made against him.
The legal team warned that failure to meet the demands could lead to court action seeking N10 billion in damages.
As of the time the threat became public, Ayodele had not issued any response to the letter.
