Represented by APC National Chairman Prof Nentawe Yilwatda, the President said the project aligns with the Renewed Hope Agenda and the Abuja Master Plan.

He explained that the corridor plays a key role in linking several districts within the southern axis of the city.

Tinubu noted that the main carriageway of the Southern Parkway has already been completed and is in use, while the new service lanes will complete the design.

He said the additional roads will reduce travel delays for residents in areas such as Durumi, Gudu and Gaduwa.

FCT Minister Nyesom Wike also said construction would continue despite political activities ahead of the 2027 elections.

He restated plans to deliver key projects on schedule while warning against illegal land use along the corridor and directing agencies to remove unauthorised structures.
