Dickson And Obi Announces End To NDC Crisis

The National Leader of the Nigeria Democratic Congress, Seriake Dickson, has announced that the party’s internal disagreements have been settled after consultations with key figures, including presidential candidate Peter Obi and economist Pat Utomi.

The resolution followed a meeting of senior party leaders convened to address concerns that emerged after the party’s primaries. The development comes after weeks of tension within the opposition party.

The NDC had faced criticism over the conduct of its primaries, with some members raising concerns about the process. Earlier in the week, former Kano State governor Rabiu Kwankwaso reportedly accused the party of replacing the names of some of his supporters who had won primary elections in Kano.

Reports also suggested dissatisfaction among members linked to the Kwankwasiyya Movement over candidate selections in the state.

Dickson said party leaders spent several hours reviewing recent developments and discussing issues that had caused concern among members.

According to him, the discussions produced agreements on how to handle outstanding matters and strengthen cooperation within the party.

He maintained that the party’s main objective remains winning elections and presenting an alternative to the APC-led government.

He urged members to put aside internal disputes and focus on unity. Dickson added that consultations among Obi, party leaders and stakeholders would continue to address concerns and strengthen the party’s structure.

He said the leadership remains committed to maintaining cohesion and pursuing its political goals ahead of future elections.
