The six-lane highway, known as Federal Highway 105, was commissioned as part of activities marking the administration’s third year in office.

The road project was initially awarded in 2022 but later stalled, leaving residents to contend with heavy traffic, flooding and poor travel conditions.

The Federal Government revived the project as part of efforts to complete abandoned infrastructure and improve transportation within the Federal Capital Territory.

Speaking at the ceremony, Tinubu said his administration was focused on completing inherited projects rather than leaving them unfinished.

He stated that the road would ease movement, cut travel time, support businesses and improve access to markets for farmers and traders in Kuje and surrounding communities.

FCT Minister Nyesom Wike described the project as one of the most challenging undertaken by the administration, noting that it was once a dangerous route linked to criminal activities and poor road conditions.

He said the completed highway would boost development in satellite towns and announced that another major road linking Kuje and Gwagwalada is expected to be commissioned in July.
