Kwankwaso Threatens NDC Exit
Fresh tension has reportedly emerged within the Nigeria Democratic Congress after claims that former Kano State governor Rabiu Kwankwaso may leave the party if candidates linked to his camp are replaced ahead of future elections.
The dispute is said to centre on the party’s proposed 60/40 sharing arrangement, which party leaders insist must be maintained in allocating positions and opportunities within its structure.
The formula has reportedly become a major point of disagreement among key stakeholders.
Sources within the party claim Kwankwaso’s supporters are unhappy with moves that could affect candidates aligned with him.
The development has fuelled speculation about possible cracks within the party as it works to strengthen its position ahead of future political contests.
Despite the reports, the party is said to be standing by its arrangement, maintaining that agreed internal rules must be respected.
The disagreement has added another layer of uncertainty to ongoing discussions within the NDC.
