The Medical and Dental Consultants’ Association of Nigeria accused the state government and hospital management of ignoring repeated complaints and failing to honour agreements approved by the National Salaries Incomes and Wages Commission.

The group said doctors are leaving the state service for better opportunities elsewhere.

The union also raised concerns about poor hospital facilities, leadership problems and the continued absence of a substantive Chief Medical Director and governing board.

It warned that the situation is affecting healthcare delivery and medical training in the institution.

The association further condemned the alleged harassment of its chairman and demanded the withdrawal of a query issued against him.

It warned that failure to act before the May 2026 salary payment could lead to a total and indefinite shutdown of services.
