Fintiri, Tangwami Win APC Senatorial Tickets
Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has secured the All Progressives Congress ticket for Adamawa North Senatorial District without opposition.
The seat became open after the incumbent senator, Amos Yohanna, opted not to seek re-election.
In Adamawa South, former Health Commissioner Chief Felix Tangwami also clinched the APC senatorial ticket after defeating former senator Grace Bent and retired federal permanent secretary Ismaila Numan.
The contest drew strong competition before his victory was confirmed.
The APC, however, suspended its primary for Adamawa Central Senatorial District due to delays in the arrival of election materials in some areas.
Party officials said the decision was taken to ensure fairness across all local government zones.
A new date for the postponed exercise will be announced soon. One of the aspirants in the zone said the suspension gives all contenders more time to engage delegates ahead of the rescheduled vote.
