Wike Clears Air On APC Chairman Visit
FCT Minister Nyesom Wike has defended his recent visit to APC National Chairman Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, saying he does not believe in “politics of enmity”.
He explained that the meeting was based on personal friendship and professional ties, not political alignment.
Wike spoke on Wednesday while inspecting ongoing road projects in Karu, Apo-Karshi and Kubwa.
He dismissed claims that the visit carried hidden political meaning, insisting that people from different parties should not be treated like enemies.
The minister said he had known Yilwatda for years and described the visit as a simple return gesture after the APC chairman reportedly tried several times to see him at his office.
He questioned why political figures should avoid each other because of party differences.
According to Wike, his focus remains on delivering projects and satisfying the responsibilities given to him.
He added that public speculation does not matter to him as long as he continues working for the people and fulfilling his duties.
