Adelabu Meets APC Leaders
Former Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, has stepped up moves to secure the All Progressives Congress governorship ticket in Oyo State ahead of the 2027 election.
On Wednesday, he met APC ward executives from the 33 local government areas in Ibadan as part of efforts to strengthen support across the state.
The meeting came days after Adelabu resigned from the Federal Government and openly declared his interest in the governorship race.
He had earlier visited members of the APC state executive council at the party secretariat in Oke-Ado, where he rejected calls for a consensus candidate.
Speaking to party leaders, Adelabu said grassroots mobilisation would play a major role in rebuilding the APC and returning the party to power in Oyo State.
He described ward executives as the closest link between the party and the people, adding that community involvement remains key to development.
He urged party members to stay united ahead of the election, promising regular engagement and support for party structures if elected governor.
Some APC leaders at the gathering also backed his ambition and called on members across the state to support his bid for the 2027 governorship race.
