Wike Sets Deadline For Abuja Projects

Nyesom Wike has directed contractors handling major projects in Abuja to meet deadlines ahead of the third anniversary of President Bola Tinubu. He gave the order during an inspection tour on Wednesday.

The minister visited key sites including the Jahi–Gwarimpa Interchange, Airport Road to Kuje corridor and the City Gate project.

He praised the quality of work but raised concerns about delays on some sections, especially bridge components.


Wike said some projects, like the Airport Road link and Kuje–Gwagwalada road, could be completed within weeks if contractors keep pace.

He described the City Gate project as a major upgrade that will change the look of the city’s entrance.


He stressed that all projects must be ready for commissioning during the anniversary period.

The plan includes roads, water facilities and other infrastructure, with the government pushing for strict timelines to deliver visible progress.
