In Nigeria, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu said late lawyer and activist Tunji Braithwaite would have supported his administration if he were alive.

He spoke at an event in Abuja marking ten years since Braithwaite’s death and the launch of his biography. The late politician founded the Nigeria Advance Party.

Tinubu, represented by George Akume, described Braithwaite as a strong voice for justice and principled leadership.
He said the activist’s values align with the vision of the All Progressives Congress.

The president added that Braithwaite would have played a role in supporting reforms and offering feedback to strengthen governance.

At the event, Bisi Akande described Braithwaite as a man driven by conviction who stood for fairness and accountability.
He said the late politician challenged old systems and remained committed to the people throughout his life.
