The group said the policy, if poorly handled, could weaken public trust. It called for immediate suspension of the programme. Concerns are growing over how the process is being managed.

The coalition argued that the current approach lacks transparency and a clear legal framework. It said there are no strong safeguards to ensure accountability.

According to the group, the process may favour perpetrators over victims. It warned that such a move could create dangerous precedents.

Members also raised concerns about the impact of years of insurgency on communities. They said many families are still dealing with loss and trauma.

The group questioned what support has been given to victims and affected communities. It stressed that justice must not be overlooked.

The coalition urged the Federal Government of Nigeria to suspend the programme and carry out a full review. It called for clear rules, wider consultation, and a victim-focused approach.

Stakeholders, including experts and communities, should be involved. The group insisted that lasting peace must be built on accountability and fairness.
