Residents Flee Kwara Community Over Repeated Bandit Attacks
In Kwara State, residents of Oke Oyan in Ifelodun Local Government Area have begun leaving their homes after repeated bandit attacks.
Families were seen packing belongings and searching for transport as fear spread across the community.
The movement followed weeks of rising violence, with locals saying attacks now happen often, mostly at night.
Armed men reportedly break into houses, steal valuables, and threaten lives, forcing many to relocate to safer areas.
Some residents said they had already moved their families, while others were still trying to leave. Many blamed the worsening situation on poor security presence, saying repeated calls for help have not brought enough protection.
The latest tension comes days after suspected bandits killed two vigilantes in the area. Community members are now calling on authorities to act fast and restore safety so displaced families can return.
