Wike Rejects PDP Legal Move
In Abuja, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, rejected the appeal filed by the Tanimu Turaki-led faction of the Peoples Democratic Party at the Supreme Court.
He spoke after inspecting the Moshood Abiola National Stadium Velodrome ahead of the party’s March 29 and 30 convention.
Wike described the move as baseless and said it would not affect the planned convention.
He added that the gathering will go on as scheduled, while efforts to settle internal disagreements will continue afterwards.
He explained that differences are normal in a large political party and said leaders are ready to engage aggrieved members.
According to him, the party remains focused on unity and its future ahead of the 2027 elections.
Wike also confirmed that zoning arrangements have been concluded, with key positions shared across regions.
He said preparations are nearly complete, with facilities ready as the party prepares to present a united front.
