He urged residents not to shelter suspects or provide cover for informants, stressing that authorities are prepared to act on credible intelligence.

The governor also revealed that the government has deployed technology capable of tracking communications linked to criminal activities, warning that anyone found collaborating with bandits could be added to a wanted list.

Bago said insecurity has severely affected key sectors such as education and agriculture, with disruptions to schooling and farming activities across parts of the state.

He emphasised that the situation is no longer “business as usual” and called on communities to cooperate fully with security agencies.

The remarks come amid ongoing efforts to curb banditry and restore stability in parts of Niger State.
