FG Approves Major Road Projects
The Federal Executive Council has greenlit a series of road and bridge projects nationwide, aiming to improve transport infrastructure and ease traffic flow.
Among the approved works are the reconstruction of major highways and the redesign of Carter Bridge in Lagos, a key artery for commuters and trade.
Officials said the projects are part of broader efforts to modernise transport networks and address congestion in urban centres.
Funding and implementation plans will be rolled out in phases, with priority given to routes critical for economic activities.
The redevelopment of Carter Bridge is expected to enhance traffic management and improve safety for motorists and pedestrians.
Engineers will also explore design innovations to reduce future maintenance costs and accommodate increasing traffic volumes.
The council noted that these initiatives form part of ongoing infrastructure expansion across Nigeria, aimed at boosting connectivity, trade, and regional development.
