Kano Assembly Seeks Action Over US Bill On Kwankwaso
The Kano State House of Assembly has called on Governor Abba Yusuf to step in over a proposed bill in the United States reportedly targeting former governor Rabiu Kwankwaso.
The appeal followed deliberations by lawmakers who described the development as troubling.
During plenary, members expressed concern that the foreign legislative move could affect Kano’s image and its political landscape.
They urged the governor to engage relevant authorities and diplomatic channels to address the matter.
The Assembly said it was important to protect the interests and reputation of the state and its leaders from actions taken outside Nigeria.
Lawmakers insisted that proactive steps were needed to prevent possible diplomatic fallout.
The resolution comes amid growing political discussions surrounding Kwankwaso, with the Assembly urging swift intervention to clarify issues linked to the proposed US bill.
