The FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, said Abuja is growing quickly but noted that development has been slowed by individuals who secure plots without building on them.

He warned that those holding land must begin work within six months or risk losing their allocation.

Suburban Broadband Limited and Akida Hills Limited signed the agreements and described the project as a major investment that will create jobs and support economic growth across the territory.

They said the transformation of the lake area would attract visitors and boost business activity.

Akida Hills Limited added that the new waterfront will rival global attractions such as Times Square in New York and the Dubai Fountain Water Show.

The company promised that the project would be completed before the end of the year, raising hopes of a new face for Abuja.
