Reports indicate that armed gunmen intercepted Garba’s vehicle near Kaduna, forcibly removed him, and fled with him, leaving his driver behind.

The driver immediately alerted local police, but by the time security operatives arrived, the abductors had vanished.

No ransom demands or communication have yet been made to the lawmaker’s family or the state government.

The incident has raised alarm over growing insecurity on North-West highways, which have seen a rise in kidnappings and attacks.

Just a day prior, bandits ambushed traders travelling between Kaura Namoda and Talata Mafara in Zamfara, leaving several injured and receiving treatment at Mafara Hospital.

Security challenges persist across the region, with recent attacks in Benue State claiming six lives, including two police officers and four civilians.

Armed gangs continue to target villages, markets, and travellers, intensifying fears about the safety of residents and commuters.
