NAFDAC Denies Ban Suspension
The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control has said it has not received any directive to suspend the ban on sachet alcohol.
The agency made the clarification amid reports suggesting the restriction had been put on hold.
NAFDAC stated that its position on regulating sachet and small volume alcoholic drinks remains unchanged.
It said the policy was introduced to address public health concerns and reduce access to alcohol among minors.
The agency explained that the restriction followed consultations with stakeholders and was backed by existing regulations.
It added that enforcement efforts are still in place as previously announced.
The clarification comes as confusion continues over the status of the policy, with industry players and consumers watching closely for any official change.
