Wike Announces Month Of Mega FCT Road Completion
The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has announced that the Airport–Kuje–Gwagwalada road projects are set for commissioning in June.
He disclosed this after inspecting the ongoing works, stating that the timeline aligns with activities marking President Bola Tinubu’s third year in office.
He said the dualisation of the Airport to Kuje road, handled by Arab Contractors, has reached about 76 per cent completion.
The Kuje to Gwagwalada stretch is also progressing steadily, now close to 65 per cent done.
Wike described the corridor as a vital link that will ease movement across the FCT and reduce pressure around the airport route.
He expressed satisfaction with the pace of work and said the contractors are on track to deliver within the projected timeframe.
Once completed, the road is expected to serve as an alternative path for motorists travelling between Gwagwalada and the city, cutting travel time and improving access to satellite towns.
