Police Reject Allegations After Mass Promotions

The Nigeria Police Force has completed the promotion of 74,352 officers across various ranks since January 2025.

The exercise covered officers in all states and formations, reaching a broad spectrum of personnel in the force.

Despite the scale of the promotion, allegations of irregularities emerged on social media, suggesting that some officers may have been unfairly advanced.

The Police have dismissed these claims, insisting that the process was conducted transparently and in line with official procedures.

Authorities explained that the promotions were part of routine personnel management aimed at rewarding performance, recognising service years, and filling vacant positions within the force.

The exercise was conducted under the supervision of senior officials to ensure compliance with rules and fairness.

The Police assured the public and officers that further promotions would continue to follow established guidelines.

They also stressed that any claims of wrongdoing would be investigated, maintaining confidence in the integrity of the force’s internal operations.
