Otti Says Governance Comes Before Election

Abia State Governor Alex Otti has made it clear that his attention is firmly on fixing the state, not on early talks about the 2027 elections.

He said no individual or group has the right to divert his administration from its core duty of governance.
The governor spoke on Saturday at the Seventh-Day Adventist Church in Umuikaa, Isialangwa South Local Government Area, where he attended a church service with his wife. He told worshippers that his focus remains on doing what is right for Abia and delivering on his promises.

Otti said political noise would not derail his government, adding that his emergence in 2023 was not accidental and that the future would take care of itself.
Addressing ongoing road works, the governor apologised to residents for the dust and inconvenience around the Umuikaa junction to Owerrinta axis. He explained that the discomfort was temporary and part of efforts to rebuild key infrastructure across the state.

He disclosed that the road, though federal, is being reconstructed and dualised with approval from the Federal Government. Otti added that similar work is ongoing on other major routes, noting that the goal is to ensure that visitors clearly feel the difference once they enter Abia State.
