Alhaji Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, known as KWAM1, has written again to Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun, asking for the cancellation of the recent Awujale of Ijebuland nomination exercise.

He claims he was shut out of the process meant to choose the next traditional ruler.
The letter, dated January 14, 2026, was sent through his lawyer and raised concerns about the meeting held on January 12 by the Fusengbuwa Ruling House. KWAM1 said the exercise did not follow the Ogun State Obas and Chiefs Law and could lead to a long legal battle if not addressed.

He explained that after the death of Oba Sikiru Adetona, the duty to present candidates moved to the Fusengbuwa Ruling House. He said a local government directive had instructed members to hold an open meeting for nominations in line with custom and state law.
According to KWAM1, the meeting at Bisrod Hotel in Ijebu Ode was flawed because some eligible members were blocked from entering the venue. He alleged that security officers were present and that only selected delegates with special cards were allowed in, a method he said was never agreed upon by the ruling house.

He called on the governor to set aside the January 12 meeting and order a new nomination exercise that allows all qualified members to take part freely. Despite his claims, reports say the meeting produced 95 contestants from the ruling house, with local government officials present as observers.
