The issue centres on Ibadan, where Governor Seyi Makinde approved a rotational chairmanship arrangement involving the Alaafin of Oyo, the Soun of Ogbomosho, Oba Ghandi Olaoye, and the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rasheed Ladoja.
Under the arrangement, each monarch is expected to serve as chairman of the council for a two-year term. The plan is aimed at giving the three most senior traditional rulers in the state equal leadership roles within the council.
