The disclosure was made on Tuesday as debate around the reforms continued to spread across the country, with strong reactions from different groups affected by the changes.
Oyedele said the threats emerged as his committee pushed forward with policies designed to restructure the tax system, widen compliance, and boost government revenue under the current administration.

According to him, opposition to the reforms has moved beyond criticism, with some individuals resorting to intimidation rather than engaging through lawful and public channels.
Despite the situation, Oyedele said the reform process will continue, noting that security agencies have been informed while efforts remain ongoing to engage the public and explain the purpose of the tax changes.
