The actor-turned-politician spoke while reacting to the prolonged political crisis in Rivers, which has deepened divisions between the governor and his predecessor, both once seen as close allies.
Okonkwo said the disagreement between the two leaders has stalled progress and distracted the government from addressing the needs of residents, adding that the situation shows a breakdown in leadership responsibility.

He argued that when political partners fail to resolve their differences, the people should not suffer, insisting that Rivers voters have the power to bring change through the ballot rather than endure endless power struggles.
Okonkwo urged citizens to vote for the African Democratic Congress, saying a fresh political choice would remove the influence of both camps and allow new leaders to take control and refocus the state on development.
