Tinubu Promises Protection For All Faiths At Christmas

President Bola Tinubu has assured Nigerians that no one will be harmed or treated unfairly for practising their religion, as he spoke to the nation in his 2025 Christmas message, calling for unity and peaceful living across faith lines.

He said the message was directed at all Nigerians, especially Christians marking Christmas, stressing that people of different beliefs must live together with respect and understanding in a diverse country like Nigeria.
The president spoke from Abuja, noting that the season of Christmas offers a chance for citizens to reflect on love, peace, and compassion, values he said are needed to reduce tension and division across communities.

Tinubu explained that his administration has remained focused since 2023 on protecting lives, property, and religious freedom, adding that security and national unity remain central to his constitutional duties.
He said the government is working with leaders of Christianity and Islam to address concerns around religious intolerance and insecurity, adding that ongoing dialogue is key to preventing conflict and building trust.
The president said Nigeria can only move forward when citizens respect one another’s beliefs, adding that shared values across religions should unite the country and support peace, dignity, and national growth.
