A High Court in the Federal Capital Territory has given Bayo Ojulari, the Group Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited, 14 days to explain why he should not be suspended and investigated over allegations of fraud and money laundering.

The order was issued by Justice Mohammed Madugu of the Bwari division after an ex parte request filed by the Initiative for Promotion of Civic Obligation and Sustainable Peace.

Justice Madugu approved accelerated hearing and allowed the group to serve court documents by substituted means. The order permits delivery of the processes to staff of the Attorney General’s office in Abuja and the legal department of NNPCL at the corporation’s headquarters. The judge ruled that this mode of service will be considered valid.
The case is expected to continue on January 19, 2026. The group behind the suit is pushing for a detailed investigation into allegations of foreign account operations, money laundering, and failure to declare assets, and is calling for Ojulari’s arrest and prosecution if found culpable.
