President Bola Tinubu has put off his planned trip to the G20 Summit in South Africa and the AU-EU Summit in Angola after new security troubles involving kidnapped schoolgirls in Kebbi and an attack on church worshippers in Kwara.

He was expected to leave Abuja today before choosing to remain in the country for more updates.

The decision came as he waited for full briefings from Vice President Kashim Shettima, who visited Kebbi on his behalf, as well as reports from the police and the Department of State Services on the church attack in Eruku. The President made the change in his schedule to stay close to the unfolding situations.

He responded to a request from the Kwara State governor by ordering more security personnel to Eruku and surrounding communities in the Ekiti Local Government Area. He also directed the police to track down the attackers who stormed the Christ Apostolic Church during worship.
