The Independent National Electoral Commission has resumed the collation of results for the Anambra State governorship election after a brief suspension.
The exercise, which is taking place at the INEC headquarters in Awka, is being supervised by the State Returning Officer and Vice Chancellor of the University of Benin, Prof. Edogah Omoregie.
During the resumed session, results from Anambra West and Ihiala Local Government Areas were announced, confirming the continued dominance of Governor Chukwuma Soludo, the candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance.
Soludo secured victory across all 21 local government areas, solidifying his lead in the governorship race.
Officials at the collation centre described the process as orderly, with electoral officers submitting final figures from their respective council areas.
As of press time, final verification and confirmation of results were still ongoing, with security personnel maintaining tight surveillance around the venue to ensure a smooth conclusion of the exercise.
