Adeboye Urges Tinubu To Give Security Chiefs 90 Days To Crush Terrorists

General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has called on President Bola Tinubu to issue a 90-day deadline to security chiefs to eliminate terrorists across Nigeria.

He made the call following rising security concerns and growing international pressure after U.S. President Donald Trump reportedly threatened to intervene militarily over the killing of Christians in the country.

Speaking after the November Holy Ghost Service themed “The Eve of Glory,” Adeboye said the Nigerian government must act decisively and transparently by identifying and prosecuting those sponsoring terrorism, regardless of their status or influence.

The respected cleric noted that he had privately advised past Nigerian presidents on security matters, including during the tenure of the late Muhammadu Buhari. According to him, while Buhari once issued a similar directive to the military, it was not fully carried out.

Adeboye advised President Tinubu to adopt a strategic and diplomatic approach in handling the situation, urging him to engage with the U.S. to delay any planned action while the Nigerian military tackles the threat internally. He said Tinubu should make it clear to the service chiefs that failure to meet the 90-day target should result in their resignation.

He warned that Nigeria could not rely on international powers for protection if a conflict escalates, stressing that nations like Britain, China, and Russia would only issue condemnations without offering real assistance.

Adeboye described the situation as urgent and beyond politics or religion, saying the continuous loss of innocent lives demanded swift and united action from the nation’s leadership.
