According to the police, Sowore, who heads the “Take It Back Movement,” reportedly ignored earlier directives cautioning against holding protests linked to the recent demolition of houses in Oworonshoki. The police say the planned demonstration was intended to cause gridlock and disrupt normal activities in parts of Lagos.

Jimoh stated that law enforcement agencies are tracking Sowore and other organisers allegedly involved in coordinating the planned protest. He added that anyone found responsible for actions threatening public safety or obstructing traffic will face arrest and prosecution.

Security operatives have since been placed on alert across strategic areas in Lagos to prevent any form of civil unrest or disruption of movement.
