Those listed for confirmation include General Olufemi Oluyede as Chief of Defence Staff, Major-General Waheedi Shaibu as Chief of Army Staff, Rear Admiral Idi Abbas as Chief of Naval Staff, Air Vice Marshal Kennedy Aneke as Chief of Air Staff, and Major-General Emmanuel Undiendeye as Chief of Defence Intelligence.

The new appointments followed the removal of General Christopher Musa, who previously served as Chief of Defence Staff. Oluyede, a former Chief of Army Staff, now assumes leadership of the entire armed forces.

Presidential aide Sunday Dare said the decision was part of President Tinubu’s efforts to strengthen the country’s security framework and improve coordination among the armed forces.

“All appointments take immediate effect,” Dare noted, adding that the move signals the administration’s determination to boost national security and enhance military efficiency.
