Renowned Nigerian preacher and founder of the Uma Ukpai Evangelistic Association, Rev. Dr. Uma Ukpai, has died at the age of 80.
His family confirmed the news in a statement titled “Glorious Transition,” announcing that the revered evangelist passed away on October 6, 2025.
Ukpai, widely regarded as one of Nigeria’s most influential Christian leaders, dedicated over six decades of his life to preaching, teaching, and evangelism. His ministry reached millions across Nigeria and beyond, known for its message of faith, healing, and spiritual revival.
Described by his family as a “spiritual general” and mentor to many, Ukpai was celebrated for his unwavering commitment to spreading the gospel and his role in shaping Pentecostal Christianity in Nigeria.
Although his death has left deep sorrow among followers and Christian communities, the family said they are comforted by the belief that he fulfilled his divine mission and now rests with the Lord.
