An aide to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has rejected allegations by activist Omoyele Sowore that President Bola Tinubu and the minister were plotting to assassinate him.

Lere Olayinka, Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media to the FCT Minister, issued a statement in Abuja on Saturday dismissing the claims. He described Sowore’s accusation as a mind game aimed at drawing attention and sustaining his lifestyle.

Olayinka argued that neither Tinubu nor Wike had any reason to target the activist, adding that Sowore should focus on his ongoing criminal trial instead of making what he called reckless allegations.

He suggested that if there were any threats to Sowore’s life, they might come from people he had allegedly blackmailed in the past. He accused the activist of attempting to play the victim while facing the consequences of his legal troubles.
The aide further said Sowore’s recent attacks on Wike were nothing more than desperate attempts to shift focus from his challenges. According to him, the allegations of an assassination plot were baseless and a reflection of the activist’s controversial record.
