Anambra First Lady Moves To Sue Ekwunife Over Infidelity Claims

Nonye Soludo, wife of Anambra State Governor Chukwuma Soludo, has threatened to drag former senator Uche Ekwunife to court over allegations of infidelity.

The dispute stems from a viral video where Ekwunife, now deputy governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress in the state, accused the Soludos of being part of the administration of late Governor Chinwoke Mbadinuju, which she claimed failed the state.

The governor’s wife, reacting through a statement on Saturday, dismissed the allegations as malicious and damaging. She gave the ex-lawmaker 72 hours to withdraw her remarks or face legal action. She described the claims as fabricated and warned that involving her children in political battles had crossed the line.

Nonye Soludo outlined what she called verifiable facts, insisting she never worked under Mbadinuju’s administration, had never met the late governor, and had only ever been married to one man. She stressed that her life as an entrepreneur and mother had been private and independent of public funds, and she would not allow her family’s integrity to be dragged through politics.

In a sharp rebuttal, the Anambra first lady challenged Ekwunife to prove her allegations by taking an oath of fidelity in the Catholic Church, swearing with her children present. She also proposed DNA tests for both families in London hospitals, offering to cover all costs, adding that she would reward Ekwunife with cash if her claims stood true.

She noted that while she would continue to maintain decency and dignity in her response, she was prepared for a drawn-out battle if the matter escalated. She also dismissed Ekwunife’s remarks about her husband as desperate political attacks, describing Governor Soludo as too refined to be tainted by such accusations.

The development adds a fiery dimension to the build-up of the Anambra governorship race, where political rivalries are already intensifying ahead of the polls.
