According to Edema, the intervention reflects the monarch’s commitment to the growth and empowerment of Itsekiri youths, many of whom have been unable to proceed for the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) because of unpaid fees.
He explained that a structured process has been put in place, requiring affected students to complete a Google Form to submit their details. The data collection exercise runs until September 30, 2025, after which payments will be made in batches.
Once cleared, the students will be able to collect their certificates and move on to the NYSC scheme without further obstacles.
“This intervention reflects His Majesty’s enduring love for the Itsekiri Nation and his vision of a future where every Itsekiri youth enjoys unhindered access to education, empowerment, and opportunities to thrive,” the statement read.
